STATEMENT
ON THE CRASH OF EAL FLIGHT ET 409
EPRP – January 29/ 2010
The
EPRP extends its heartfelt condolences to the 90 victims of the
Ethiopian Airlines crash. The tragic accident has highlighted the
plight of Ethiopian young women employees as domestic workers in
Lebanon and the racism and brutal treatment they receive there in
what is actually a modern slave existence. The Lebanese officials
have exhibited the usual racism even around the handling of the
accident and their treatment of the relatives and friends of the
23 young Ethiopians who perished in the crash. Ethiopian mourners
at the Beirut airport were segregated and separated from the Lebanese
mourners and the officials did all in their capacity to show their
contempt for Ethiopians, dead or alive. Read

2010
Further
evidence has emerged that the cruel regime of Meles Zenawi is using
food aid sent to famine victims for political purposes. Previously,

of the sectors of the Ethiopian economy and is chaired by TPLF Central
Committee member Abadi Zemo and its deputy is none other than Azeb
Mesfin, the queen of corruption and the wife of tyrant Meles Zenawi.
Almeda, that is to say the dictatorial regime of Meles Zenawi is
getting a US$ 30 million contract through a shady deal that enjoyed
the manoeuvre and backing of the ruling party and State.

As
if the ceding of Ethiopia's fertile land to the Sudan was not disastrous
enough, the Meles Zenawi regime has now leased more than 3 million
hectares of land (7.4 million acres) to foreign companies that are
to farm this land and carry off the produce back to their countries.
It is a 15 Birr (US$1.19) cheap sale per hectare and Arab, Chinese,
South Korean and Indian companies have rushed in to take advantage
and the so called investors are being given grace periods on payment.

CHOLERA
CONTINUES TO KILL PEOPLE ALL OVER ETHIOPIA
EPRP -September 09/2009
The EPRP strongly condemns the Meles Zenawi regime that has not
only exposed the Ethiopian people to a cholera epidemic but has
ordered doctors and health officers to deny the epidemic is cholera
lest it loses revenue for foreign tourists. Hundreds have died from
the cholera epidemic referred to by the regime falsely as "diarrhoea".

END
OF TYRANNY IS PANACEA FOR AFRICA'S WOES
Press Statement –August 12 2009
A
square peg for a round hole or, as Ethiopians say, a blanket for
a starving man. In other words irrelevant and that is precisely
what comes to mind when we consider the scope and impact of the
visit by secretary of state Hilary Clinton to seven African nations.
To begin with one wonders why Secretary Clinton avoided visiting
Ethiopia where Meles Zenawi a staunch US ally was recently praised
as the man who brought democracy to Ethiopia by none other than
Clinton's deputy Johnnie Carson.

DENOUNCE
THE CEDING OF ETHIOPIAN LAND
EPRP Press Statement -August 5 2009
The traitorous regime of Meles Zenawi has ceded Ethiopian land to
the Sudan and it is now giving more than 1.6 million hectares of
fertile land to foreigners coming from the Middle East and East
Asia. The effect of this appropriation of land by foreigners is
negative and not to be underestimated. Presently, 10 million Ethiopians
need food aid and lack of food has been a recurrent and persistent
problem. Dictatorial rule and bankrupt economic policies have ruined
Ethiopian agriculture and reduced the peasantry to starvation and
benumbing poverty. Read

MELES
GOES, MELES STAYS -- A NON ISSUE DIVERSION
EPRP Statement -June 24 2009
The
deceptive regime of Meles Zenawi is adept at fabricating false slogans
and fake priorities which it cleverly passes to foreign news medias
and agencies. In this vein, it has recently circulated a non issue
like the possible stepping down of Meles Zenawi from his post as
prime minister and tried to cover up the main point that the coming
2010 election is going to be rigged and false as has been witnessed
before. Read

ETHIOPIANS
STILL WAITING FOR A VATICAN APOLOGY
EPRP- May 11/2009
The
Pope of the Catholic church is presently on a visit to the Middle
East and the fact that Vatican has apologized for the negative and
condemnable role and position of the Catholic Church during the
Second World War and the genocide of Jews makes it imperative that
we remind the Pope and the Vatican once again that Ethiopians are
still waiting for an apology for the support that Pope Pius XI and
the Vatican gave to the invasion of Ethiopia by Mussolini’s
fascist army. Read

SHAME ON THOSE WHO INVITE A TYRANT TO THEIR TABLE
EPRP -MARCH 17/2009 (BY WAY OF AN
OPEN LETTER TO BRITISH PM GORDON BROWN)
It is sad to learn that once again the tyrant in Ethiopia, the
very man who has ordered so many massacres (Arba Gugu, Water,
Adebabaye Iyesus, Gambella, Ogaden, etc), has been invited to
London’s next meeting of the G20. Prime Minister Gordon who
vociferously calls for the arrest and trial of Sudan’s Omar Beshir
has apparently no qualms or moral restraint to invite a criminal
tyranny like Meles Zenawi to London to take part in an international
conference.

Ethiopian women observe March 8, alas, not with cries of victory

THE SOMALI DEBACLE OF THE MELES ZENAWI REGIME

The invading troops of Meles Zenawi have been forced to leave
Somalia after two years of wreaking havoc and committing war crimes.
The corrupt commander of the troops, the officer who was shaking
down Mogadishu business men, that is to say, Gabre Yohannes, did try
to put a brave face and to claim that the operation was a success
and the mission “accomplished” bringing to mind yet another such
claim that turned to be false elsewhere.Read
